Haven't had it happen yet that when I'm IMing with someone it suddenly then appears as a new conversation. Question now is, as the issue for missed IM messages is now being worked upon. There shouldn't be anything in this release to affect the split conversation problem. The primary cause of that is when you are chatting with someone on Windows client and they close the window and open a new window later. Perhaps you've just been lucky and not hit that condition.
